Making your own beer

Postby Bill Kilgore » Tue Jul 16, 2019 4:22 am

A friend of mine is a professional brewer and is teaching me how to make it. Gonna start with a kit he recommended. Reckon it'll be about 40 pints worth every brew. Could possibly get a second kit and stagger it so every fortnight I get 40 pints worth of beer that will be my own creation to my own tastes. Can't bloody wait tbf :druggie:

This is the one.

I tried this once and ended up tipping it all down the bath.

I always had in my mind that homebrew kits are shite but my mate was just round and explained that the equipment is fine, it's the ingredients that make or break it and he knows his stuff with all that so hopefully it should turn out ok.

Might end up being a real money saver once I've got my technique down.

I’ve tried it twice and it was shite both times, may have been because it was IPA and tasted awful

Currently got 23 litres of session IPA fermenting away :icon_surprised:

A week or so and I'll bottle it up, let them sit for 2 or 3 weeks then they'll be good to go :fridaynighttavern:

Smelling and tasting lovely so far :icon_surprised:

It's not ready but it's almost done with the first fermentation so you can taste it and get an idea what it will be like.

I actually think this is the first step on an awesome new hobby tbh
