Trying to lose weight, started running again. So far so good but muscle memory means I’m drinking wine at the same pace as a beer. Had two bottles on Friday night which is worrying

Really enjoying a couple of Belgian Trappist types lately Delerium and Orval. Both over 8% but so so drinkable :pounditrotate:

I really don't think I'd bother drinking a beer that strong I drink too quickly.

You'll only get 1/3 of a pint at those higher strengths for your 8 euros in case you didn't know

Dunno what that is tbf. Could be a name for those paddle things where you get like four small glasses of different beers. Which is great.

They do a nice growler though :druggie:

Loving it mate. I’m still learning but each time you do it you learn something new. I currently have 5 different batches bottle conditioning away and funnily enough yesterday I ordered a piece of equipment which should take me to the next level.

I’ll post some pics later if I can remember how to get pics off my phone on to here.

There’s something so great about drinking a beer you’ve made yourself and it going down a treat.

Does it take up much room?
And when it's fermenting do you need to keep the heating on?

No not really too much space depending on your setup. Fermentation does require a consistent temp but you can get heat pads for this time of year or as I intend for my next step you can buy an old fridge and rig it up pretty easily. I’ve been doing mine in a spare room and it’s been fine.

You thinking of getting into it then mate?

Are you going for it then? Brewing up ready made kits shouldn’t take that much space, you just basically add the ingredients to a fermenter then store it somewhere not too hot not too cold for a week or two. Bottling is a pain though and he’ll obviously need to store them and sanitise them before use etc

I made a beer about a month ago which has turned out fucking lovely :icon_surprised:

More by luck than skill but it’s bloody lovely... If I can replicate it on my new setup I’ll send you all a bottle. I put a bit of time and effort into the recipe in my amateurish way and it’s turned out fanbloodytastic :pounditrotate:
