In a couple of months I would have been there twenty years
For this torture I will be getting a present of my choice up to £750.00. I'm not quite sure, but I don't think I can just take cold hard cash, because if I can, I will.
If not though, what would you spend it on? I can only think of a new computer really. My old one is about eleven years old, but it still runs just fine.
Everything I can think of seems a waste of money really. Don't need a new telly etc...

Re: Getting a prize from work
I'm a bit like that now. I used to like getting all the newest, best stuff. But suddenly I'm looking at my tv, which is about a decade old, it's not even a 'smart' tv, and I'm thinking it still works and looks just fine, why bother spending out?
Get yourself something a bit productive like a new bike for the summer or something like that.
I won £200 from work this week

What for?
Re: Getting a prize from work
I donate money to this care giving society from my wages and it enters you into a monthly draw with cash prizes, I think the top prize is a grand, then 200, then 100 etc. And I came out in the draw. It's the third or fourth time I've had a little result from that.

Gift/vouchers can be written off for tax purposes as an expense
Cash cannot
They’ll put pressure on you to take a gift

Must be the week for companies giving something back. I got 300 this week that can only be spent on a healthy activity like gym membership etc. I know most of you don’t give a shit for it but i play golf and this is just sweet as membership is up for renewal just now.

I got the bank holidays and 4 “rotational days”Do you get christmas and holiday pay over there?
Rotation days are 8-4pm no overtime and no site allowance. Site allowance is 6.40pound per hour, it’s a massive hit on the wages but still got paid to eat and drink shite and listen to more shite from the mrs

Re: Getting a prize from work
i take that as a resounding no. what we understand as christmas and holiday pay are basically 13th and 14th month's salaries every six months that aren't taxed as much.
Re: Getting a prize from work
