So do we think 5th is achievable?
So do we think 5th is achievable?
It's starting to look more possible than at any time during the season so far, and all things considered I'd be more than happy to finish in that spot this year. I always thought it would be a tough year what with the ownership issues, little did I know how much other drama was yet to come.
But we seem to be picking up nicely, Kenny is living up to all we could have hoped for, and if we stay on course this season, with our new exciting attacking players and style, do some good business in the summer like getting some wingers and Charlie Adam, then carry the momentum into next season with Kenny at the helm, then who knows, we could get back to where we want to be and beyond.
Wouldn't that be a big fuck you to our departed former hero. Remember last time a golden boy striker fucked off to win things? And we won the Champions League the very next season? Just saying is all :icon_mrgreen:
Still, just nice to have a bit of optimism at this stage.
And don't forget we have owners who seem to be showing the right qualities thus far too.
Nighty-night

5th is absolutely a possibility. I think Spurs will stumble and miss Bale a bit too much. Their strikers are firing blanks. Good win for them tonight but expect to see the wheels come off soon. Plus wait til we get them at Anfield with Suarez and 'The Unit' up top.

I've not had a look at the table in a couple of weeks, but things look better than they did a month ago. I didn't think we'd finish i the top eight.
Three straight wins with none conceded help that. Sunday is a test though.
I didn't realise MOTD is on tonight either.

Sundays a massive test. Do we go with the same formation? I think I would you know. Get Carra back in for Soto.

I'd keep Soto in actually. Carragher should be wheeled out only if necessary. He's all heart but his legs are slow and he overcompensates by trying too hard and makes mistakes because of it. Add to that the rust of his long layoff. Torres or drogba would make mincemeat of him, thats if he doesn't get himself sent off for breaking torres' legs first.
In fact I reckon I could skin carra these days, and I'm shit.

RE: So do we think 5th is achievable?
soto couldnt possibly handle drogba
torres, who knows
kenny seems to know the opposition and adjust, that was very much a critism of mine towards roy, he stuck with the same system that kept failing
kenny changes and changes again to suit the opposition, at the start of the night I post how stoke were nullifying things with anti football, I think our set up tonight played to that, kenny knew they'd get behind the ball with 10 men so he packed out midfield - he got us playing short quick passes around their parked bus
we were excellent in the 1st half and only for their keeper it could have been 2-0 at half time

Short highlights, but there was some good movement there.
Kuyt better have his shooting boots on come Sunday.

Is it in our own hands now? 5th that is? Win tomorrow, beat spurs and away we go? Have I mentioned I'm going to that game
Tbf hodgson was running the team into the gutter, I blame him...was he still boss when I argued with you about squads? I'm clutching at straws here aren't I
