RE: Liverpool FC Thread
Dya not think that us resigning Aurelio seems a bit desperate we must be really strapped for cash. I think he's a decent enough backup but like davey boy says we need to sign another LB.

Sounds too good to be true as usual though.
Crouch is linked with a return though.I'd like that, but he'd be on the bench again, so not sure he'd be up for that.

Can't see a reason to.You also have Cole and what's his name on a free to play up front.
RE: Liverpool FC Thread
I think Babel should get a chance to partner Torres with Gerrard behind and Cole bombing in from the left.

To be honest, even though I said he shouldn't break up Torres and Gerrard, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move Gerrad back into midfield with Lucas.God knows where this leaves Aqualani. On the bench I suppose.
Not sure about Babel and Torres though.I think Babel might be better right up front as he seems to run out of ideas once he gets into the area, so he might as well just hit it.There is no way anyone but Torres should be playing up top though.

RE: Liverpool FC Thread
Hodgson will unlock the latent potential in him which Benitez stifled and he will be the new Henry
Babel will have no place in this new regime
then we won't need those other nancies.

So what do we all think about this ownership malarkey then?
Lets be honest, getting the Americans out is a massive plus, no matter who comes in. But despite all the ridiculous money and wealth of these potential buyers being bandied around, they all seem a little, well, shady to me.
Its the way of things these days for these mega rich types to buy the soul of top clubs so I can swallow that, and if there is money for decent players and the power to keep the decent ones we have, then it can't be bad.
I think we have the advantage over the likes of Man city and Chelsea when they got their masses of loot as we are already a decent club with players, they were more from the ground up if you see what I mean.
But I am wary that it could go as spectacularly wrong as it could go spectacularly right.
Interesting times.
The ownership thing aside, the appointment of Hodgson and subsequent commitments from Torres and Gerrard and the acquisition of Cole and Wilson have given me a lot of enthusiasm for the new season which wasn't there a couple of months back.
Its our year etc
But seriously, I am not convinced by Man U and Arsenal, Man City and ..... .....Spurs have a lot to prove and Chelsea are probably the ones who will run off with it this season but thats not guaranteed.
Europa league, in a way, could be good if we didn't get far in it as it will give us a chance to concentrate on the league from early, whilst the others will have many more distractions.
I wonder how this is all going to go. I was dreading this season but now it could be most entertaining.

RE: Liverpool FC Thread
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it again now.I've just remembered the match is on ITV4 tonight as well!!!! Fucking forgot.
Anyway, like you say, I too get a "Out of the frying pan" feeling about new owners. You'd like to think the only way is up after the Americans though, although being owned by a opressive goverment does not sit well with me at all.
I've forgotten what I was going to say now.Busy day at work.Lets hope everything turns up roses
Team as follows.
Cavalieri, Johnson, Skrtel, Carragher, Kelly, Jovanovic, Gerrard, Lucas, Cole, Pacheco, Ngog. Subs: Gulacsi, Aquilani, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Wilson, Spearing, Eccleston.
Want to have a look at Jocanovic.Gerrard looks to be in midfield.
Oh and I'll be keeping an eye on Cole as well of course.
