Firstly let’s be clear . It was a Really poorly thought out plan which was made worse by the coordination of how it was communicated. But let’s not get sucked into feeling the need to be outraged by everything as seems to be the way these days. The owners do see football as a business- this should not be new news to anyone. They seen an opportunity to try a new and different competition which would make them money... is it really that surprising? People seem to gloss over the fact that the PL would still be intact with games every week under the new plan . As I said last night part of me was glad to see UEFA get a slap in the mouth. The current European formats have become stale and are just UEFA trying to rinse fans for everything they can get . As for making FSG get out of town ..ah come on lads. Wasn’t that long ago that they came in and cleared all the shite debts left by Gilet and Hicks . Without John Henry I seriously doubt we would even have a club. Perspective.
