Liverpool-bound Naby Keita opened the scoring as Hamburg's 100 per cent winning start to the Bundesliga season ended following a 2-0 defeat at home to RB Leipzig.

The Guinean collected the ball 30 yards from goal and shook off the challenge of Walace before rifling into the top corner and beyond a helpless Christian Mathenia.

Lots of reports today saying we can have him now if we pay another £13m.

Not sure how I feel about that tbh. I'd rather put the money towards a coutinho replacement.

Pay it, need the extra man, give him a taste of the league before next season starts proper.

Leipzig are hardballing us to fuck over this.

I just saw this, not sure how true it is

There was an add on in Keita's transfer where if Leipzig got CL we'd pay £66M, but if we get him now and they get CL they'll have done it without him so it'll be £55M as agreed, so the £13M we pay now is really £2M - because we save that £11M.

Erm. I'm not working that out, but I'd love to see him come now as he looks fantastic, and we'd have a midfield ready for next season as Can will be leaving as well.

I see him more as a replacement for Can/Hendo/Winamp than I do for Phil though, so get someone else in please. Lets fuck stuff up.

No shit
Jurgen Klopp admits Naby Keita is still adapting to English football since his summer arrival at Liverpool and is not playing with full confidence.

He should start tonight.

The fact that Keita also did not take the time to become proficient in English despite knowing a year in advance about his move to Liverpool is rather strange, and perhaps another factor in his slow adaptation, and the ability to communicate effectively with his team-mates would surely enhance his impact on the pitch.

Most significant, though, is that Keita appears to be playing a different tactical role to the one he excelled in at Leipzig, which may go some way to explaining why we are yet to really see the player we expected given his time in Germany.
Not brushing up his English is a fucking joke tbh.

Not that uncommon though.
But he knew he was coming for ages, that's the point, that he didn't put the effort in to at least have a decent grasp of English...before he came over.
