AC Milan have held discussions over how they can dump on-loan flop Fernando Torres and hope to swap him with Atletico Madrid’s Alessio Cerci.

Torres joined Milan from Chelsea on a two-year loan in the summer, but has failed to recapture any form in Italy – scoring just one goal.
Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi met with the club’s chief executive Adriano Galliani after Saturday’s draw with Roma to discuss transfer plans and the Torres situation.

Torres was an unused substitute in the Roma game and has not played for Milan since facing Inter on November 23.
With Chelsea adamant Torres will not return to Stamford Bridge, Milan are hoping to send him to former club Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window.

Milan want to take Italian forward Cerci, who has struggled to adapt to La Liga, in the opposite direction.

The main stumbling block to any swap deal is the fact Atletico paid Torino £13million for Cerci in the summer and the £150,000-a-week wages of Torres.
