Ok, so what GK are we getting in? and what are we doing with Karius?

Hard to disagree tbh.

Karius will get absolutely slaughtered at away (and possibly home) games now, and players will be having shots from everywhere and challenging his every touch of the ball now. If the like of Kirkland and Carson weren't good enough then there's no way he is. Mignolet is a worthy no. 2 keeper. Not sure who to get in. I know he's a bellend of the highest order but would Joe Hart do a job?

Joe Hart was never the answer and he couldn't get into the West Ham team ffs, he is finished now.

Mignolet I imagine will want to leave to get first team football.

Maybe they'll splash out and by that bloke from Roma now.

I hope Klopp doesn't get stubborn about this. He made a fuck up with Karius. Fix it and move on imho.

I got the impression this season was an audition for Karius. If he did well he'd go into next season as No1.

Well he failed the audition by messing up twice in the final and prior to that he had hardly been a commanding presence in the box. In fact Mignolet probably would have done just as well with VVD in front of him. One mistake in the final and he might have got away with it. The 3rd goal has buried him, the abject nature of the way he conceded has turned him into some sort pariah in my mind.

But you are right Rich, Klopp might be silly and stick with him. You'd think after a player has let him down like that he'd bin him off. Too avoid being too harsh on him he may get loaned out. Whatever it is, just get away from the club for now.

It's not saying much but Mignolet woulden't of made those mistakes in a final.

Doesn't really matter. I'm sure Klopp will find a sensible solution for both the club and also Karius without destroying him completely.

What that means I don’t know but can’t imagine given how he has played the transfer policy so precisely to sign only what player he wants for positions that need addressing that he hasn’t looked at GK’s

I don't think we were actually looking for a keeper before the final, so I'm not sure what plans we have in that respect. We did keep getting linked with that one from Roma, but they wanted about 60 million for him.

I suppose Karuis is his only bad buy so far. Kieta and this new bloke sound like they're going to be ace. Get that Fakir in and a new keeper and for the first time in years I'll start thinking about winning the league again.

Get him in for a season or two with his experience while we find a long term solution.
