Looks like Oscar is next, €75m bid turned down but expected to come back with a higher offer
500k a week too
He'll be the 3rd most expensive signing in world football.... Oscar...

I wonder if his position at Shaktar was basically untenable for whatever reason; look at the way himself and the club were whoring him out so shamelessly. Then when it fell through with us he took his only other option, he couldn't realistically stay at Shaktar after saying he wanted to come to us.
Be interesting to see if some bad injury or other issue comes up for him in the next year or so.
Something is definitely fishy there, as disappointing as it is to miss out I think we may have dodged a bullet there.

I read about this in the paper, basically the president of China wants the world cup in China within 20 years as he's a massive footy fan. These Chinese clubs are owned by super wealthy conglomerates, they want to be in with the president etc keep him happy, backhanders all over the shop probably. Sven is already over there as a manager. What is going on there?
The money must be something else, and you'd have to praise their leader on the pitch or something.
China want to be taken seriously by world football by having a strong league so they have a chance of hosting the WC and also develop the national squad. There was deal with that Portuguese league recently as well.
Portugal's second division could see an influx of Chinese players due to a clause in a major sponsorship deal.
The Segunda Liga is set to be rebranded as the Ledman Proliga from next season, with plans to use the Portuguese system for helping to train Chinese talent, on and off the pitch.
Chinese multinational Ledman initially said the top 10 clubs must include Chinese players and assistant coaches.
But that proposal was withdrawn amid Portuguese players' union concerns.
Instead, a spokesman for the league told BBC Sport that its board will vote to decide the number of Chinese and Asian players and which clubs they will play for.
"Liga Portugal is open to help develop Chinese football, in forming young players, as the new Proliga is focused in promoting young talents," said a statement.

As far as the teixeira transfer, well I think we did the right thing in not caving to stupid demands for a player who isn't even a regular for Brazil. I think the final decision was down to Klopp and he decided against it so fair enough

How's he doing this season?
Re: Transfers. Window opened up like an LFC defence
Apparently we have offered 45m for the midfield yank bloke. Although that was from the mail who were quoting the sun. Do we really need another midfield?
Re: Transfers. Window opened up like an LFC defence
I think one more high quality midfielder would be a great addition.

We've got shitloads there though, and the Ox is due back. If we do buy another one, they'll be some leaving in the summer if you ask me.
