I don't think £40 a year is too unreasonable. Sometimes it's cheaper when certain websites like cdkeys sell vouchers cheaper than PSN.

As for the free stuff it's not a patch on what we used to get free on PS3 as its all still too new so the majority is Indy games. That will improve over time though.

TBH I didn't really understand it, something about online and your 'base' and having to pay money to protect it, we want to play each other online though don't we? Maybe it'll make more sense after it's release and online proper but it does sounds like Konami are tyring to pull a fast one here. The single player will keep me going for ages though think.

I think if you play the game logged in, then other players can attack your base. A bit like getting hacked in Watchdogs.

You should be able to play offline though. And I think you get the initial online stuff for free, but have to pay to go on with newer parts.

Ok so you get a base and you can get more shit with these MB coins.

To clarify, the initial FOB, which includes the FOB command platform and all sub-platforms, is not behind a Mother Base coin paywall. Maintaining other FOBs past the initial set of FOB platforms can be purchased with Mother Base coins. More information regarding the payment model for FOB will be provided closer to launch.

So, that sounds like you'll get your first FOB for "free" (I say "free" because this is a full-price game we're talking about), and you'll have to spend MB Coins to buy more.

Just a week before launch, then, questions remain over these MB Coins and their "payment model". Is it possible to gain them through normal play, or are they an in-game currency that must be bought with real-world cash?

Konami producer Kenichiro Imaizumi took to Twitter to say there are multiple ways to "make money" in the game, but it's all a bit hazy.

Dave there's a thing on Far Cry 4 where if I still had the game I could jump in and help you with missions and stuff, I wonder if it's along those lines. I haven't read the article though.
