The Metal Gear Solid Series
Playing MGS2 again for the first time in a decade at least after Josh recommended the HD series. Wasn't expecting too much to be honest. I thought I would get a bit nostalgic, but after a bit the age of the game would show, and I'd lose interested. This hasn't happened at all. I'm really enjoying it. I've died shit loads of times, and I've found some of it a bit difficult. Some of that might be due to tiredness, but I can't remember if I died this many time first time around.
Must only be halfway through it, and I love the ridiculousness of it all over again. The bosses are so fucking stupid, you can't help but enjoy it, and some if it seems innovative still today, and the graphics are still surprisingly good.
And I've still got to play three again yet
And then the new one will be out

I highly recommend this. Surprised you haven't played them. Three is the best one.

You should try Peace Walker, I think it's one of the best in the series. Obviously the graphics aren't great because it was a PSP title and it's mission based not an open world so to speak but I think it's great. You can do the missions with people online aswell so it adds CO-OP to it.

I'll play it as I never have. Like I say, I'm suprised how good these games still are, so there's no point not playing the others.
I don;t know if you remember Josh, but I've just this minute hit the part in number two where I'm at the part that connects the two shells and you have to shot out the bomb triggers. I remember being so angry at this part as I didn't know why the bridge kept blowing up, but I had a little laugh to myself when I came across it tonight as I remembered....
Playing games before you had the internet
Getting so angry you couldn't shit

Ground Forces which is prequel to the next Metal Gear is released next month and is two hours not even that long and they are charging 30 quid. I love Metal Gear I consider myself a fan but not spunking 30 quid for two hours at the very most.

I probably will.
RE: The Metal Gear Solid Series
You seem to be proper bumming the MGS franchise at the moment.
Howe much is that HD collection thing then? So I can play 2 and 3.

I'd pay £40 for Ground Zeroes tbh not arsed if it's short, anything MGS related (apart from Rising) I'll buy.
RE: The Metal Gear Solid Series
I think I saw it for £23 on Shopto.

I'm really enjoying the second one. Some of it I remember wll, other bits I had forgotten about entirely. Either way, it's still really good, and shows why the series is held in such high regard. Although this one gets slated by mummies boys as you hardly play as Snake. You seem to be proper bumming the MGS franchise at the moment.

I got this off Ebay, and it was still pretty pricey at £18.00 I think. That'll be two great games you haven't played though, so you can't go wrong.
RE: The Metal Gear Solid Series
Yeah I might pick it up. Saw it for like £12, gotta be worth a punt.
I'm not sure how I really missed out on them back in the day, I loved the first one, I just never really thought a sequel could top it I suppose.
Might order it now actually.

Just looked and it cost me £15.49, so that's a bargain.

Finished playing Snake Eater last night. Have to say I found the bosses so easy this time round. I remember finding some of them easy first time round, but I pretty much done them all first time of trying. Even The Boss only took two goes, and then the final cut scenes were ruined by the fact the best camouflage to wear was a lab coat and keisha girl make up.
What an ending though. Just brilliant

Mr Kojima himself has been speaking about his main inspiration for metal Gear Solid as a whole and oh surprise surprise, a certain Mr Akira Kurosawa is mentioned and he goes to twitter to announce he is a big fan.
So you all have to become Kurosawa fans now so you can really appreciate Kojima's work.
