Re: The Euro vote
The ftse has finished higher than it did before the referendum, cancel the Eurogeddon.

Re: The Euro vote
That means nothing. The FTSE was already at a low level as ppl waited to see the outcome of referendum. The pound is still taking a hammering against the Euro and Dollar. It's like saying things have gone shit and it's now slightly less shit but still shit. The ftse has finished higher than it did before the referendum, cancel the Eurogeddon.

The FTSE 250 - which contains more UK-focused companies - closed 3.2% higher on Wednesday, but still remains more than 7% below its pre-Brexit level.

The point being that we are moving in the right direction bearing in mind it's still literally just a few days ago. It's like saying things have gone shit and it's now slightly less shit but still shit.

Re: The Euro vote
Are we? This is just the stock market. I don't want to be a negative Nigel and want things to get better but I'm not convinced.
We're still in the EU and until somebody triggers article 50.. I'm sceptical we will actually leave it.

Re: The Euro vote
Exactly Mark. There was a downturn due to the vote. Things are recovering slowly in terms of the stock market. £ is still down. The full impact will come once they trigger article 50, and then the uncertainity will kick in, there'l be a loss of confidence and we'll start see all manner of stuff.
Still got roughly the same number of immigrants as well.

Re: The Euro vote
The downgrading of credit rating is more significant, makes the cost of borrowing much higher.
If I'm right you have gone from AAA to A-, when this happened Ireland we soon slipped to B and that's what triggered the bailout

A lot of us were not born, so it would be hard to judge. All the people crying about leaving the EU,how did they react when we joined in the first place.
Re: The Euro vote
I think it was a 60% vote to join. I think I saw that, I could be wrong. But back then it was just a humble little European Economic Community.

Re: The Euro vote
I'm all for it and I want another vote. Farage said he would do the same thing if it went the other way, but they have all scattered now they've one, the little cowards.
I wouldn't want one if the stay vote had won. Of course I wouldn't. I will say that a lot of people that voted leave have changed their minds now for some. fucking reason or other. Bloke at work voted out and now regrets it. I asked he why he voted out, and he quite simply said he didn't know. Incredible.
It is such a close vote that it deserves another one if you ask me. I don't think it will get one though.
