Recommendations for a tablet
Recommendations for a tablet
Looking at buying a mid-range tablet - around the £200 mark
The Samsung Tab E looks a good bet. £139 in Argos.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Recommendations for a tablet
Thinking about getting myself one of these for Xmas. Don't want an ipad.
Do you lads use tablets at home? Any recommendations? I mean it'd be nice to have one but maybe my laptop and phone are enough. Sometimes I'm bored of looking at my phone and can't be bothered to have the weighty laptop on my lap etc...and a tablet might be the answer.

Ive got an old iPad. Gonna be changing soon as it's getting a bit creaky. Might switch to an android this time as Apple is just overpriced and I can't be doing with them any more. Was going to see what's about in the January sales.

Yea Jan sales are the one. Why anybody would pay full price now for an xmas gift after Black Friday(week long) and sales starting Boxing day is beyond me.

People say they don't want an iPad then buy a Samsung and its obsolete in 12 months
How long have you had your iPad Rich?
The premium price reflects the premium support, you get what you pay for

It's a fourth generation so however long ago that was. 3 to 4 years maybe. It's still ok but ideally I'd like to get rid of my PC but to do that I need to be able to do dodgy downloads and sometimes sport streams on a tablet which means android

I recently got a Lenovo Tab 2 for £99.99, it isn't great but it's perfect for what I use it for. I use it with this

to watch stuff in bed.

Re: Recommendations for a tablet
Androids aren't really supported with firmware updates and even less so with their tablets
My brother has been through 3 and finally gave in and got an iPad mini last Christmas. He should have just got an iPad to begin with
I've a iPad Air 2 got it 2 Christmas ago and I believe the iPad Air 2 is still the top billing in the iPad range after the Pro.
I bet you use that clamp for 2 handed wanks

Can you drag and drop files onto an ipad and use vlc player? If not I'm out. Fuck having to use iTunes.

Re: Recommendations for a tablet
There's vlc alright
As for dragging and dropping files I don't know why you'd need to I haven't done that in years certainly never needed to do it on an iPad I've owned
I don't own a pc anymore so wouldn't know

It'd be useful on a flight like today or on the tube when it's not possible to stream etc
Re: Recommendations for a tablet
Drop the iPad and you're looking at 100 to get it fixed . .. you can kick the Samsung around the place without a worry . Apple wins for functionality but once you get used to the Samsung it's not bad

QVC have the Amazon Fire 7 for £35, thinking about getting it at that price, root it and install stock android on it.

Re: Recommendations for a tablet
I've got a 7" Fire HD, and it's a great little tablet. Not the best, but the screen is really good. I don't use it much these days as there is not need. Had it when I went to Paris the other week though, and it came in handy. Only problem is that it only has a micro USB and HDMI port. No extra storage options.

Re: Recommendations for a tablet
This isn't full HD but you can expand it upto 128gb via micro sd. I would only use it for travel and when the laptop is too much effort the place we're staying at in Italy has no TV or Wifi so I'll need to load up a tablet or something for that.

It's through Airbnb, it's not essential for me to have TV/wifi won't be in that much and do enough of that stuff at home.
