As for the mobile version, if you're using chrome you can request to use the desktop version. I'm not actually sure how phpBB3 works with mobiles.

I think the new forum is taking a bit of getting used to. You don't get the black spots when there are new posts etc, and the season is over, so I reckon it's be quiet on here for a bit.
