Re: The news thread
How are the queues at the pumps round your way?
Mad round here. The supermarkets have swept up all the drivers so they should be fine, so I don't know why people are doing it.

Re: The news thread
Driving home tonight was a right fucker because of it in fact. Queues everywhere. I've got enough in my tank for a week, so I'll wait until then, as these twats will all have fuel by then.

Re: The news thread
It's astonishing though. Quite a lot of aggression out there as well.
I heard one of the problems is that the supermarkets have poached all the drivers, so they'll have no problem filling up again. It's more your stand alone stations.
I only get mine from the supermarkets these days as I'm there, and it is a tiny bit cheaper. Even they've run out today though.
Wiosh we'd had a better summer and it had happened then, as I would have gotten loads of cycling out of it.

Re: The news thread
It sounds selfish but I’ve got a bike and work and the gym are right next to each other 3 miles away. And my car is three quarters full which will last me ages. So I don’t much care.
I really don’t believe there are all these supposed food and fuel shortages though. It’s just media sensationalising things as usual and all the mindless guppyfish then panic and create the problem.
Could be a deliberate move to make everyone want to buy electric cars of course.

Re: The news thread
I do beleive the food stuff as I'm seeing it with my own eyes.
The petrol stuff happening now is people being idiots, and the home fuel stuff may well be a problem, but by all accounts the governemt have put things in place so if your energy firm goes bust, you can get straight onto another company and they will credit anything you have lost with the company that have just gone tits up.
You are right though. If it won't trouble you, then you don't tend to care.

I mean if you need proof of just how many stupid fucking idiotic morons that are out there look at the toilet roll situation when corona started making its way over. I still ask in my local shop if they have any bog roll in as a joke.

Re: The news thread
There is no situation. Just weak minded myopic types panicking and quivering in fear like always. Bet all the folk queueing are remainers.

Re: The news thread
Still fucking great queues for petrol today.
Re: The news thread
I don’t really use the word ‘mongs’ at all any more but any time this issue comes up that’s the word that leaps out of my mind.
Re: The news thread
How’s it been today? I drove past a garage earlier and the pumps were cordoned off.
