I can't stop being annoyed about this film. I don't really blame Rian Johnson, he's a good director and although he's credited as a writer as well we all know Disney pulls the strings. They seemed more interested in crowbarring in shit jokes, unnecessary plot lines and making up diversity quotas than actually telling a worthwhile Star Wars episode. What was the point of the whole film? Rey and Ren developed a little bit. Just a little bit. And the rest was basically bollocks.
The ham fisted way Disney have told us that basically the core of what Star Wars was about, good vs evil manifesting through the jedi and sith, is over and we better get used to the idea, is pretty insulting. 'Oh but there are still force users though look' Fuck off
So what's next from Star Wars? A Han Solo film that no one wants or cares about.

I watched a video on YouTube and the ad before it was for razor blades with star wars on the packaging.

I really don't understand how they could have made so many poor decisions. Colin Trevorrow must be thanking his lucky stars he got out of doing the last one now.

I saw something on the internet which I missed during the film.

Apparently
the old Jedi books weren't destroyed as they are shown in a drawer on the Falcon at the end.

If true that makes the whole Yoda bit better (I quite liked that bit tbh even if Yoda looked a bit weird), and offers a glimmer of hope that Disney haven't bollocksed it up completely.

Just back
I need to see it again but I’m very disappointed in it. It’s left the story all over the place.
Why not kill Leia when they could?
Why not have Kylo kill Luke akin to Vader and obi wan in battle than have a stupid ghost fight only for him to float off into the wind dead anyway?
Bb8 doesn’t half get around in this movie
The Asian girl was awful, the porgs served no purpose at all.

Snoke, billed as the big bad all seeing super bad whose been pulling the strings in the background for the whole saga just killed off like that

The lightsaber breaking in half

Not sure if you're talking in terms of impact but I think he did all that to buy the resistance time. I imagine force ghosting that hard from another planet drained him, hence him dying.

Agree with the rest though but I came out enjoying it tbh and I'm reading a lot of negativity about it but it's not changed my opinion of it, I enjoyed it. Not as hardcore as you lot though.

I think a lot of the negativity comes from super fanboys who had invested a lot in certain theories which all turned out to be bollocks.

I would say after the first third of the film it improved and as a film it was perfectly entertaining but as a Star Wars film it missed the mark. I guess it sort of had to be a bit different as they can't just keep regurgitating the same old Star Wars tropes endlessly. They have to make it their own at some point. I sort of suspect a second viewing will improve my opinion. I hope so anyway.

Also I just saw a picture of that Maz Kanata (the orange alien thing with the goggles) and she looks like she might be the same species as Snoke. She knows stuff about the force as well. I bet they used to be married or some shit then he turned evil and started the First order while she stayed at the pub flicking her bean to some Wookiee porn. :icon_uhoh:
