So now we’re quoting the prequels
I thought we hate them too

True, and the thing is new fans won't give a fuck about it when the next Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever comes out and they won't be buying the merch or anything then.Don't put it past them. Disney probably coulden't give a fuck about the old fans, new generation buying the toys and merch.Palpatine won't be in it properly, he'll be a holocron recording or something. I suspect it's just a tactic to try and win is cynical old bastards over.
If he's alive somehow it basically renders Vader's whole arc and redemption pointless.
If it's only a holocron or flashback or something it's a total con job
Either way, it's shit and Disney can suck it

'We'?So now we’re quoting the prequels

If your'e looking forward to it because of that then fair play, i wish I could too but I just don't trust them. I liked Force Awakens til the Last Cunt ruined it, the damage done by that fil is immeasurable and they okayed that shite to go ahead, hence the trust issues
For example, why reveal Palpy now? First teaser trailer That could have been another 'I am your father' type moment for the reveal but they've fucked that up already havent they.
I hope you're right and I'm wrong but I doubt it

We = Star Wars fans and the narrative we follow
Re: Disney Star Wars
I think for myself tbh, just so happens some other people think along similar lines
You seemed to think the same but the Palpy thing has excited you, fair enough, wish I could be excited too but its just not happened.

Re: Disney Star Wars
I will say something positive - Abrams does appear to be retconning some of the shite from the last one, the fixing of Kylo's helmet, the repaired anakin saber etc
I'll be interested to see just how much he's retconned it when the movie turns up on showbox

I suppose one thing about the emperor doing a Walking Dead is that the empire will be back. Fuck you first order

Him being a force ghost is fine isn't it? Don't particularly like the whole force ghost thing, but it's been around since year one.
I remember not being that impressed by TLJ trailers actually. TFA ones were great, but the Jedi ones were missing something. Getting the same vibe from this one to be honest.

Re: Disney Star Wars
I was buzzing for TLJ after the trailers. The whole Jedi ending thing was an intriguing idea, them evolving into something else or whatever, the possibilities were endless, specially after the way TFA set it up.
Then the film came out and it was all over. I wish I could just let it go tbh but it's more fun moaning about it than actually watching it which speaks volumes

No Whooping is strange
Again not a lot to go on from the trailer but I’m will to give it a go
Won’t be subscribing to watch it, I’ll be happy enough whenever it lands on my iptv

Re: Disney Star Wars
Yeah that trailer looks shite
I suppose I was taken in by the reveal at FanFest and having Ian McDiarmid on stage, let’s be honest he IS one of the great SW characters
There’s nothing in that trailer really

Re: Disney Star Wars
I did smile when he appeared there on stage and did the voice because as you say he's one of the greats.
I suspect Hayden Christenson might show up as well
